Beautiful shophouse doors

Vi har eventuellt hittat en snickare nu som kan tänkas vara skicklig nog att hjälpa oss med renoveringen. Det är mycket detaljarbete som måste göras för att kunna återskapa samma typ av hantverk som originalhuset. Tyvärr är detta typ av hantverk inte så vanligt längre och färre och färre människor vill idag syssla med denna typ av snickeri. Det är lite av en försvinnande konst sorgligt nog. Detaljerna på de gamla husen är otroligt vackra men på de flesta husen har trädetaljerna blivit förstörda av solljus och regn. Vi vill försöka återskapa så mycket som möjligt utav hantverket på vårt hus, men samtidigt göra det till något personligt och något som representerar oss idag.


I think we may have found a carpenter now, likely to be skilled enough to help us with the renovation. There are so much detailed work that have to be done to be able to recreate the same type of craft as the original shophouse. Unfortunately, this type of craft is not so common anymore, and fewer and fewer people today want to engage in this type of carpentry. It's a bit of a dying art, sadly. The details of the old buildings are incredibly beautiful but on most of the shophouses, the wooden details have been destroyed by sunlight and rain. We want to try to recover as much as possible of the crafts in our shophouse, but at the same time make it a bit more personal and something that represents us today.

These are the doors of the main entrance in a shophouse (not our shophouse). These doors are original, but has been repainted in a color that is not an original color. As for style and color choices, all houses have to be renovated according to its original to qualify as a heritage house.
