Inspiration

Regnet öser ner i Penang och har gjort det sedan fredags eftermiddag. Regnperioden är ett faktum. Istället för att vara ute i solen, sitter vi inne och myser vid vår courtyard där det regnar in. Det är riktigt hög mysfaktor när man bor i ett shophouse under regniga dagar. Lite kaffe från Sverige och hembakta kakor på det, förgyller söndagen lite extra. Medan jag ändå är inomhus och sitter vid datorn försöker jag hitta lite inspiration till inredningen av vårt hus. En stor inspirationskälla för hur vi vill att vårt hus ska se ut hittar vi i de gamla marockanska Riad-husen. Jag är nästan helt besatt utav dessa hus. De är så otroligt vackra! Ett Riad-hus har, precis som vårt hus, en courtyard mitt i huset och när vi nu vill göra iordning vår egen courtyard, får dessa hus fungera som vår inspirationskälla.


The rain is pouring down in Penang and has done so since last Friday afternoon. The rainy season is a fact. Instead of being out in the sun, we sit inside and enjoy our open courtyard where it rains. It's really cozy when you live in a shophouse on rainy days. Some coffee from Sweden and homemade cookies on top of that, embellish this Sunday a little extra. While I'm indoors and sitting at the computer, I try to find some inspiration for the interior of our house. A great inspiration for how we want our house to look like, we find in the old Moroccan Riad houses. I'm a bit obsessed about these houses to be honest. They are so incredibly beautiful! A Riad, just like our house, has a courtyard in the middle of the house and so now, when we are in the process of doing our own courtyard, these houses serve as our inspiration.

Och nu när jag satt och tittade på dessa bilder blev jag grymt sugen på Marockansk mat. Så det får det nog bli till att laga ikväll. Marockansk kyckling med couscous och aubergineröra. Mums! 

And now when I sat here and watched all these nice photos, I suddenly had the craving for delicious Moroccan food. So how about some home cooked Moroccan chicken with couscous and eggplant zaalouk tonight. Yummy!
