Fika

To have a break during the day and sit down with friends, family or colleagues and together enjoy some coffee (kaffe) and pastries (fikabröd), that is the meaning of the word fika. For Swedes, the fika breaks (fikapaus) are the most important part of the day and of the Swedish culture.

New adventures!

Soon the next adventure in my now 31 year life begins. We're in the middle of packing up our life here in Sweden and getting ready to move to the all year around summer in Malaysia. This time we have chosen to do things a little more planned than usual. That is to say flights are already booked, so even train tickets to Stockholm. We have already signed a contract to rent an apartment in Penang and we already bought a car so that we easily can go around and quickly adapt into life over there. Because the truth is that without a car in Malaysia, you can not do anything, there are no sidewalks, no pedestrian walks or bicycle paths, only car roads ... I will really miss being able to ride a bike wherever I want to go! But something that I know that I will not miss is the Swedish long and dark winter. Lucky us to have the luxury of choosing to live in two countries as diverse as Malaysia and Sweden. So given all these preparations already completed, we feel very calm about our move. Best of all is that this week we found out that all documents and signatures are ready for us to make the purchase of our own shophouse, YAY! Now we just have to be patient and wait for everything legal to be done, so that we can begin the renovation of the shophouse. Exciting!
