Idag är en sån dag i Malaysia då jag bara vill tillbaka till sängen och dra täcket över mig. Dessa dagar inträffar då man måste ha med den underbara, effektiva och väl fungerande Malaysiska byråkratin att göra. Vi har precis kommit tillbaka från immigrationsverket vilket helt ärligt är som ett jäkla zoo! Det enda vi vill göra är att lämna in en ansökan om mitt visum, bara en ansökan, inget mer krångligt än så men NEJ det SKA, MÅSTE, BÖR göras mycket krångligare än så. Vi har redan varit där tre gånger innan vi idag äntligen kunde lämna in ansökan, hallelulja!! Varenda gång som vi är där har vi haft med oss allt som de sagt att vi måste ha med i ansökan, men varje gång vi kommer dit för att lämna in ansökan så har de lite roligt och lustigt hittat på lite andra roliga papper och dokument som vi behöver ge dem. Det är under dessa stunder, dessa dagar som man bara längtar hem till Sverige där saker och ting liksom bara flyter på. Där en ansökan om uppehållstillstånd görs via internet, där migrationsverket klart och tydligt skrivit ner precis alla saker som ska inkluderas i ansökan. Det finns inte ens något behov av ett besök på migrationsverket för att ansöka om uppehållstillstånd. Här i Malaysia vill immigrationsverket helst se dig så många gånger de kan. De verkar njuta av att ha ett väntrum med ungefär 100 svettiga personer för att ansökningsformulären är så dåligt konstruerade så att även om man kan tala Malay så finns det ingen chans i världen att du lyckas fylla i ansökan rätt. Eller för att ingen handläggare kan vara professionell nog att informera sökanden om ALLA dokument som behöver inkluderas och när man ringer och frågar dem via telefon om vad som behövs inkluderas i ansökan får man svaret "Det är lite svårt att förklara, det är bättre att ni kommer hit... " Så, det är bara att ta ett djupt andetag och hoppas på att man imorgon slipper att ha någonting att göra med byråkratin i Malaysia.
Today is one of those days in Malaysia when I just want to go back to bed and pull the blanket over me. These days usually occur when you have to deal with the wonderful , effective and efficient Malaysian bureaucracy. We have just come back from the Immigration Office , which quite honestly is like a freaking zoo! The only thing we want to do is to submit an application for my visa , just an application , nothing more complicated than that, but NO it WILL, MUST, SHOULD be much more complicated than that. We've already been there three times before we finally, today, could submit the application , hallelulja ! Every time we go there we brought with us all the documents they said that we need to include in our application, but every time we go there to submit the application , they always come up with some other funny paper and documents that we need to give them. It is during those moments , during these days that you just miss Sweden, where things just kind of works. Where an application for a permit is made on-line, where the immigration office clearly written down exactly all the things that should be included in the application. There is not even any need for a visit to the immigration office to apply for a residence permit. Here in Malaysia The Immigration Office prefer to see you as many times as they can. They seem to enjoy having a waiting room with about 100 sweaty people lining up because the application forms are so poorly designed that even if one can speak Malay, there is no chance in the world that you successfully can complete the application form right. Or because no officer could be professional enough to inform the applicant of ALL the documents that need to be included, and when you call and ask them over the phone about what is needed to be included in the application you get the answer " It's a bit difficult to explain, it's better you come here ... " So, I will just take a deep breath and hope that tomorrow I will not have to have anything to do with the bureaucracy in Malaysia.
