Fika

To have a break during the day and sit down with friends, family or colleagues and together enjoy some coffee (kaffe) and pastries (fikabröd), that is the meaning of the word fika. For Swedes, the fika breaks (fikapaus) are the most important part of the day and of the Swedish culture.

Welcome to Malaysia!

We have arrived! Feels really good to be back and to move in to the new apartment, my husband made a good choice there. Unfortunately we have not been able to swim in the pool yet because while as we flew to Penang our bag with all our clothes and swim wear flew to.. Australia! It's a bit unfair that my bag has been to Australia but not me. Luckily we have booked tickets to Sydney so that I too get come to Australia soon. Anyway, we came here without clothes, underwear and swimwear. Good thing this is a hot country so we do not need so much clothes. However, no swimming in the pool so far. But the bag has arrived today so we will probably have a dip in the pool later today. Besides the lost bag, the flight here to Malaysia was very good. We got really bad seats on the flight here, right next to the dining section where they prepare all the food and drinks. But thanks to the super friendly staff, we were able to upgrade to the top floor where we got 4 seats to ourselves. I could lie down and sleep throughout the whole flight, YAY! At the moment we have no internet access in the apartment and the internet at Starbucks is not that reliable so it might take some time between the posts on this blog. I will write more and also post some pictures as soon as I can. Until then .. Selamat Datang ke Malaysia!
