Inside a shophouse

Häromdagen var vi i Georgetown för att kolla in de nyrenoverade shophouse som gjorts iordning nyligen. Fler och fler shophouses har blivit uppköpta och renoverade vilket känns inspirerande då vi snart ska sätta igång med vårt projekt. I och med renoveringarna märker vi också skillnad i antal turister som befinner sig i Georgetown. Det börjar bli riktigt livligt på gatorna, tajmingen är perfekt för att öppna ett svenskt kafe. Nu har även HM öppnat en klädbutik i Paragon mall så Sverige är liksom lite på G här i Penang. Jag tog några kort från ett shophouse som vi var i som också är ett kafe. Detta hus ligger en bit ifrån vårt och är större än vad vårt hus är men det kanske kan ge en ide om hur ett shophouse kan se ut inuti efter renoveringen.


The other day we were in Georgetown to check out the newly renovated shophouses. More and more shophouses have been bought and renovated recently which feels very inspiring since we are about to get started on our own project. With the renovations, we also notice a difference in the number of tourists in Georgetown. It's getting really busy in the streets and this together with H&M's opening of a new clothing store in Paragon mall, the timing of opening a Swedish café is perfect. It is time to put Sweden on the map here in Malaysia. I took a few photos from a shophouse that we were in the other day, which is also a cafe. This house is located a bit away from ours and it's bigger than our house but it might give an idea of ​​how a shophouse can look like inside after the renovation.
