Fika

To have a break during the day and sit down with friends, family or colleagues and together enjoy some coffee (kaffe) and pastries (fikabröd), that is the meaning of the word fika. For Swedes, the fika breaks (fikapaus) are the most important part of the day and of the Swedish culture.

A day out in Penang

Today we went out for a drive here in Penang. My brother-in-law came back today from Kuala Lumpur where he studies so together with brother-in-law and mother-in-law, we took a day off and had some breakfast and lunch together. It's always nice when you get to hang out with family. After the lunch we went to a Buddhist temple that is located here in Penang, to get some blessings for my brother-in-law who is doing his exams right now. I have previously never been to this temple, which happened to have a lot of beautiful Buddha statues and paintings. I just had to take some photos.
