Fika

To have a break during the day and sit down with friends, family or colleagues and together enjoy some coffee (kaffe) and pastries (fikabröd), that is the meaning of the word fika. For Swedes, the fika breaks (fikapaus) are the most important part of the day and of the Swedish culture.

Fish pond

We've got pets. Small, small fishes who are now swimming in a bucket in our courtyard. We got them from a friend who is moving back to Sweden after living here for 3 years. They can not bring the fishes back to Sweden, of course, so now they have a new home here i the shophouse. So far, they seem to be happy and well in their new home. The bucket that they now swim in is only temporary and I plan to buy a nice urn for them to live in. But for now, they just have to get used to the feeling of swimming in what resembles a dark, Swedish lake.
